How to make the ABC’s fun for toddlers?

Learning the ABC's can be a fun activity for toddlers.  Make learning the ABC’s into an interactive game.  Your toddler is busy and has a shorter attention span so keep learning sessions brief.  Engage all of their senses by showing them a flash card and asking them to repeat the sound the letter makes.  Ask them to point to the letter as they say the sound and find objects that start with the same letter.  As toddlers begin learning their ABC’s have them start by practicing the letters of their name.  Show them the cards that form the letters of their name and practice saying each sound.  Show excitement as your toddler progresses, give lots of smiles, and encouragement. When you have fun with your child and give positive reinforcement for their learning efforts, they will enjoy learning as well.
